About

I am a dual PhD Cognitive Science and Psychology student, co-advised by Ben Motz and Robert Nosofsky at Indiana University.

For the earlier part of my graduate career, my research focused on answering theoretical questions on perceptual category learning. To answer those questions, I used a combination of experimental and computational methods.

More recently, I shifted my focus to how I can leverage my theoretical knowledge in human cognition and technical expertise in experimental psychology to engineer intelligent tutoring systems for more effective and efficient learning, and to gain insights from behavioral patterns that student’s exhibit in self-regulated learning tasks.

Importantly, I am also interested in metacognitive aspects of learning such as interest, motivation and self-efficacy, and am seeking opportunities to collaborate on research projects that involves learning in actual classroom settings.

Outside of the lab, I enjoy cooking, gardening, hiking and foraging.
